About this programme.
The Apprenticeship in Barbering is built for students who want to learn the trade inside a live shop from day one. You will be placed with a partner barbershop, mentored by a master barber, and brought back to campus for structured workshops, theory and assessment. It is the fastest route into earning a real income while you qualify.
What you will learn
- Clipper work, skin fades and taper blending
- Scissor-over-comb and classic barbering shapes
- Beard sculpting, line-ups and hot towel shaves
- Consultation, client care and shop etiquette
- Hygiene, sterilisation and infection control
- Traditional Nigerian cuts and tribal pattern design
- Retail, pricing and daily shop operations
- Portfolio building and social media promotion
Entry requirements
- Minimum age of 16 at commencement
- Basic literacy and numeracy (assessed at interview)
- A willingness to work in a live barbershop environment
- Two passport photographs and a valid ID
- Completed apprenticeship placement form (we help you find a shop)
